Distribution: 2 or 3 species distributed in New Zealand, Chatham Island, Norfolk Island & Raoul (Sunday) Island)
LPG Area: Seychelles Court, Polynesian Circle
A.k.a.: Nikau palm (R. Sapida), Norfolk palm (R. baueri)
Comments: Rhopalostylis baueri and R. sapida are both currently represented by one single individual each in our garden. Both are very healthy, but also very slow, probably about a 2.5 on a 1-10 scale. The R. sapida is planted in fairly deep shade, while the R. baueri (planted inside Polynesian Circle) is in full sun and doesn't seem to mind.
